Captain Phillips (2013)

Oh the climax!
I was totally glued to my seat by the end of the movie. The story progression was so great and Tom Hanks‘s magical performance just added to the fun. The amazing story of how the captain of a merchant ship saves his crew while risking his own life and how he too is rescued by a veteran team of the US Navy SEAL division. Yea it does get boring when Hollywood movies over exaggerate american military superiority but this movie actually does not. And what they show here is 100% believable and that the SEAL’s are 100% bad asses! The music played at their first appearance was very gripping I’ll tell you that.

But all that comes at the later half of the movie. The first part deals with the ship’s captain and his crewmen. The first half has relatively fewer gunshots but is still exciting. It was a pretty wild ride with them taking on the armed pirates with whatever resources they had and relying heavily on their wits. Yea, they did make many errors but who can blame ’em. They were never trained for a life or death situation like the one they faced. All in all the movie was very nicely executed and to be honest, I only want to talk about the climax all day long.

This movie is a great flick and a must watch for everyone, especially of you’re into those based on true stories.
