Well, duh.

Let’s assume we do, in fact, use only 10% of our brain. If you could unlock the remaining 90%, what would you do with it?

And I don’t think there’s anything more I could do even then…

    1. One of the reasons our brain uses so less of its total theoretical capacity IS for adaptive/healing purposes.
If a part of the cortex is damaged, then some part of cortical activity from the damaged region gets transferred to an unused part of the cerebrum.
Usually, it ain’t so obvious but if we would’ve been using all the neurons in our head, then injuries to the brain could be much more serious.

      1. That’s how it works.
Again, that’s only little of what we know of the brain.
There are two things we still have a lot to know about the human body: the brain and the immune system.

So again, there’s still a lot more to be explained.

      2. Yes. 10% of the body’s energy budget is used by the brain.. If you assume 105 degrees F will cook your brain and 105/98.6 = 1.06. then a 6% increase in usage, 0.6% according to the 10% usage assumption, will kill you.

  1. Oh my gosh I was obsessed with this last year. That movie came out where that guy took that medicine that unlocked the use of his entire brain & it was freaking awesome…
The title is completely escaping me right now, grrr

  2. What great possibilities. You’d never have to pick up the phone again cause you already know who’s calling you (and probably why, too). That would do for some great time management.
